Peter On Baptism 1 Peter 3:21-22
4
Is It Biblical Truth? What Peter said is either true or false
Jesus addressed this another time (Matt. 21:23-27) “Baptism now saves you” (1 Peter 3:21) Baptism does not save Which is it? Which is from heaven; which is from man? Noah is used as an illustration of salvation The flood (water) separated the ark from the sinful world (2 Peter 2:5) Baptism (water) washes away sin (Acts 22:16)
5
Why Baptism Saves Power in the water?
Cleansing is in the blood of Christ (Rev. 1:5; 1 Jn. 1:7) How do we do this (Rom. 6:1-6)

Illustration – Naaman (2 Kgs. 5:1-19)
Was the power in the Jordan River? If so, why didn’t all other lepers go wash in the Jordan? The power was of God (2 Kgs. 5:15) So, why wash in the Jordan (2 Kgs. 5:13-15)? God, through Elisha, commanded the washing (2 Kgs. 5:10). One is baptized because God commanded it Through Jesus Christ (Mk. 16:16) It is God who has the power (Col. 2:12)
7
That Good Conscience The knowledge that sins are forgiven (Acts 2:38)
To be able to “walk in newness of life” (Rom. 6:4) To now set the mind on things of God (Col. 3:1-2)
