Figure 1 N-Cadherin Is Stabilized at Apical Cell Junctions by Lgl1 and aPKC Protein interactions in the apical-lateral corner of a V/SVZ neuroepithelial progenitor are shown. The binding of N-cadherin by Lgl1 along the basolateral surface of the radial glial progenitor results in N-cadherin internalization (red arrow); however, aPKC antagonizes this interaction by phosphorylating Lgl1 at cell junctions, leading to selective junctional accumulation of N-cadherin in normal embryos.
