The city of Arezzo is located in the south of Tuscany, in the centre of Italy, known for its beautiful landscapes.

2. History of Arezzo.
Arezzo was founded by the Etruscans, an ancient population from the centre of Italy.Then it was conquered by the Romans and it became a very important town. In the Middle Ages Arezzo obtained freedom and expanded. In this period one of the most famous traditions of Arezzo was born : The Saracen Joust.

3. The Saracen Joust.
The Saracen Joust is an ancient game of chivalry and it was a great public event. The town is divided into 4 districts: Porta Sant’Andrea, Porta Crucifera, Porta del Foro and Porta Santo Spirito;.each district has its representatives and two knights. The target is to hit the centre of a billboard (held by a Buratto, which represents the king of indies) with a lance and mark point 5.

4. Corso Italia.
It's one
of the most important streets in Arezzo.
Piazza Grande.
It's the most noteworthy medieval square in the city.

5. Arezzo Cathedral.
It's a Roman Catholic cathedral.

It's a park near the cathedral.

6. Santa Maria della Pieve.
Was built in the 12th century.
Basilica of S. Francesco.
It's famous thanks to the representation of the Legend of the True Cross.

7. Roman anphitheatre.
It was built between the1st and the 2nd century.

He was a monk of the 10th century; he invented modern musical notation.
