1 Do you believe in God or not?
Try to give as many reasons as possible for your answer! E.g. I believe in God because: I prayed for my nana to get better and she did so I believe God answered my prayer. 4 minutes to think and write! Listen carefully - you will be telling the class your partner’s answer, not your own! 2 minutes to discuss with your partner! 4 minutes to share your partner’s answer!

5 Main features of a Christian upbringing:
Parents may read children stories from the Bible Parents may help children to prepare for receiving sacraments (baptism and communion) Children may attend a Church school (Like ASA) Children may take part in Christian celebrations like Christmas and Easter Parents and children may pray together Go to church as a family on a Sunday Children may be baptised Children may attend Sunday school To investigate why people believe in God.

7 So, what is a religious upbringing? Sum it up in one sentence!

8 How Christian upbringing leads to belief:
I believe because my parents told me to believe, so I have faith as I trust them. I believe because prayer makes me feel closer to God. I believe because what I have been taught in school gave me evidence that God exists. I believe because I meet all my friends at church and Sunday school and we all believe the same. I believe because the sacraments I have received make me feel God loves me.
