Bartolomeu Dias 1488, manages to sail around the southern tip of Africa, eliminating the land trades routes through the Middle East. He wants to go to India, but the crew refuses. What is the impact on trade from this voyage?

Jacques Cartier Originally set sail from France to locate an Asian trade route in 1534. He enters North America through Canada, and sails to the Great Lakes. No trade route is found, but they would attempt settlement in the 1540s.

Francis Drake- English Explorer
Took 3 years and successfully circumnavigated the globe. In 1588 helps defeat the Spanish Armada as it attacks the English Navy.
