2. PowerSchool Parent-Student Portal Address
This will take you to the PowerSchool Parent Sign in Screen
User Name = student (ex:
Temporary Password = NVMI1234

3. You will be asked to create a new password after signing in with the Temporary Password. Click Sign In – will be taken to Start Screen

4. PowerSchool Student and Parent Portal Start Screen
The start page consists of the following main areas:
Header
The first and last name of the person signed in, located top right
Navigation toolbar
Student - the first name of the student associated to your parent account will appear, top left of screen.
Navigation menu
The navigation menu is the central point to navigate to the various pages of the PowerSchool Student and Parent portal.

6. Navigation Menu Grades and Attendance
Click to view student grades and attendance for the current term
You can click on anything in blue to see additional information.
Grades – click on the blue grade to see the assignments that made up that grade, and which assignments might be missing.
Attendance – click on the blue number of absences for a specific period, a list of the actual date your student was absent will show up
Contact Teacher – click on the teacher name in blue to get an form for that that teacher. This is the best way to communicate with teachers.
The following screen is the Quick Look Up Administration screen, looks very similar to the Grade and Attendance screen in the Parent Portal, same information

8. Navigation Menu Grade History
Use this screen to view student grades for a past term.
Click on the Term ta you want to view
Description of grade notes:
A caret (^) score is exempt from final grade
An asterisk (*) assignment not included in final grade
The number one (1) final grade may include assignments not yet published
by the teacher.
Only applies to courses taken at NVMI, will not show grades from a previous school

10. Navigation Menu Attendance History
On this screen you will see the specific Periods on a Daily basis of the students attendance.
Tardy, and Absent Codes
List of additional attendance Codes at bottom of screen
Parents are required to send a note with their student the day the student returned to school after being absent.
Parents can contact the Main Office/Attendance Clerk with any attendance questions.

12. Navigation – Notifications - On this screen you can select the Reports to receive by as well as how often.
Suggest you select these Reports and Frequency:
Summary of Current Grade and Attendance
Detail Report showing Assignment Scores for each class
Detail Report of Attendance
Daily or Weekly
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Shows the account that will receive these reports.
MUST (School assigned address)
You can add an additional for these Reports in the Additional Box.
NVMI has put any previous addresses in this box, may be changed by Parent/Guardian

14. Navigation Menu School Bulletin
Currently all NVMI school bulletins are sent out in s by Dr. Ryan

15. Navigation Menu Class Registration
This screen allows Students and Parents to see the courses that have been requested for the upcoming school term

17. Navigation Menu My Schedule School Information
This Screen will show the actual courses, periods that make up your students daily schedule.
Currently this information is not available on the Parent Portal

Account Preferences – Profile
Ability to manage your parent account information –
Can choose the language in which you want to view and notification sent from PowerSchool
NVMI provides Parents with an account and user name, parents can only change passwords.
