Email threats: Spam Malware Phishing Confidential leaks Compliance
is critical to business communication But, it also creates opportunities for business sabotage: Spam, high volumes of unsolicited s, can clog inboxes and network and compute resources, waste businesses time and increase operational costs Malware and viruses, embedded by hackers into , may be downloaded to computer systems, allowing hackers to gain access to system resources and information. Hackers can then steal data, crash systems or hijack systems for there own uses. Another hacker trick, phishing, involves embedding links to sites that prompt trusting users to enter confidential information that may later be used to steal identities or compromise corporate data. In addition to inbound exposing corporate computer systems to threats, outgoing can also expose businesses to risk. Outbound s expose companies to Zombie attacks, IP high jacking which can ruin the reputation of your business. In addition to threats, outbound s are typically subject to corporate policies and government regulations. For example, Government regulations now hold businesses accountable for protecting client and business confidential data and require businesses to ensure that confidential data is not leaked.

In addition to verifying the sender’s IP reputation, the reputation of the ’s content, structure, links, images, and attachments are also checked. Techniques are then applied to check for directory harvest attacks (DHA), Denial of Service (DoS) attacks and to validate the sender. Lastly, advanced techniques are applied to analyze content, such as adversarial bayesian filtering, image analysis and gibberish detection to uncover hidden known threats or new threats. is also scanned for known viruses. In addition to full inbound protection, outbound is also scanned to ensure it’s good and virus-free, including techniques to identify and block zombie-generated and alert the administrator incase a threat is detected. 7 Confidential

Multiple integrated anti-virus technologies Provides layered malware protection
Dell SonicWALL Dell SonicWALL Security is the only security solution to integrate multiple anti-virus technologies, including Dell SonicWALL GRID Anti-Virus, Dell SonicWALL Time-Zero and McAfee, resulting in protection superior to that provided by solutions that rely on a single anti-virus technology. The solution protects not only from known viruses, but also from suspected viruses. SonicWALL Time-Zero Virus Protection uses predictive technologies to protect organizations from new virus infections before anti-virus signature updates are available. The suspect s are identified and immediately quarantined, safeguarding the network from the time a virus outbreak occurs until the time an anti-virus signature update is available.

Global Response Intelligent Defense network Real-time threat protection
Since threats are continually evolving, security technology must also dynamically evolve to address the latest threats in real-time. The Dell SonicWALL Global Response Intelligent Defense network, or GRID network, collects and analyzes information from multiple sources and automatically updates installed security appliances, software and services every 5 minutes with the latest threat information. Dell SonicWALL security technology performs rigorous testing and evaluation of millions of s every day, establishing reputation scores for senders and content and identifying new threats in real-time. In addition, the Dell Sonicwall GRID network datacenter is continually updated with the latest threat information from industry threat lists and anti-virus experts such as McAfee. GRID data center threat information is then updated to installed security solutions every 5 minutes to deliver the most accurate and up-to-date protection against new spam attacks.

Architected for high performance, availability, scalability: Invest as you grow
Scalable, redundant Dell SonicWALL Security appliance and software solutions are designed to easily scale for growth or to add redundancy, allowing businesses to expand their infrastructure as required with out large upfront costs. One or multiple security systems may be deployed at a single location or multiple locations and be centrally managed to best meet business requirements. When a single security system is deployed, security scanning and management take place on a single system. To expand security capacity or enable redundancy, additional security systems may be deployed. In this case one system is configured as an Security Control Center system, additional systems are configured as Security Remote Analyzer systems. The remote analyzer systems scan s, route good s to servers and route junk s and logs to the Control Center system to be stored. The control center centrally manages all remote analyzers, and collects and stores junk received from the remote analyzers. Centralized management includes reporting, and monitoring of all related systems. Systems may be mixed and matched, for example, if 3 systems are deployed, they may all be hardware appliances, or you may chose to deploy one hardware appliance, one virtual appliance and one windows server software based system. In either case, all systems may be managed from a single, central interface and any system may be configured as a control center system or a remote analyzer. As additional systems are added, the security subscription is shared, so no additional subscription cost is incurred. The Dell SonicWALL’s scalable architecture makes it easy and cost effective to scale security, support distributed environments or implement a high-availability solution.
