5. Paper 2: 20th century World
Duration 1.5 hours
HL weighting: 25%
maximum mark: 40 (2 questions 20 points each)
six extended response questions for each topic
3 questions on named people , themes, topics, or events listed on syllabus
2 open ended questions
one that either asks to compare two regions or based on quotation
Students must answer two questions from different topics

Causes, practices, and effects of war

Duration: 2.5 hours
HL Weighting: 35%
max mark: 60 (3 questions worth 20 points each)
24 questions: 2 from each of the 12 sections
students must answer three questions, two may be from the same section
students will prepare for three sections
