GRI update Update on regional issues Leadership of NW region: Still no NRA volunteering to become Lead NRA Window of opportunity is closing: final call launched until 31 March Possibility to consider: rotating Lead NRAs with fixed term (2-3 years) If still no candidate(s) step in, the NW region will be dissolved Composition and geographical scope of SSE region: Survey launched by SSE Lead NRAs to collect views from NRAs in the region Different views expressed about the convenience to reshape the region and whether it would help solve the current issues Different opinions on the main obstacles for further integration in the region: insufficient infrastructure, lack of participation / resources in NRAs, too large current size, differences in legal & regulatory frameworks, etc. Early implementation of NCs widely acknowledged as a main priority RCC meeting scheduled for 27 March to discuss results and agree on a common message and way forward

3 Early implementation of Network Codes: CAM
GRI update Early implementation of Network Codes: CAM CAM Roadmap governance: Recent discussions with ENTSOG and PRISMA on governance Goal: finding a way to fit in the new regulatory groups proposed by PRISMA within the current organisational arrangements in the CAM Roadmap A proposal is being developed that will soon be submitted to ENTSOG and PRISMA Update of CAM Roadmap for 25th Madrid Forum (6-7 May): Ongoing work in cooperation with ENTSOG for a ‘light update’ of CAM Roadmap in view of next MF The updates will focus on the status of implementation issues and progress in (early) implementation of CAM NC by TSOs per IP Postponed at ENTSOG’s request

4 Early implementation of Network Codes: Balancing
GRI update Early implementation of Network Codes: Balancing Current state of play: Discussions held with ENTSOG during second half of February to discuss approach for monitoring early implementation of BAL NC Common views by TSOs and NRAs on expected timelines for implementation and on most challenging parts of the NC: operational provisions (concerns on liquidity) and information provision Consensus to set up some sort of general monitoring framework, based on a ‘light touch’ periodical review of issues and challenges No formal administrative monitoring process (like CAM Roadmap) perceived as necessary at this stage Details of this monitoring framework to be defined over next weeks Next discussion with ENTSOG planned in early April Stakeholders associations to be contacted in view of next MF

5 Evaluation of GRI Coordination group
GRI update Other developments Evaluation of GRI Coordination group Internal survey launched to NRAs in GRI Coordination Group on 20 Feb Nine responses collected until 7 March. Main results: Responding NRAs seem to be generally satisfied with current way work is organised under GRI Coordination group Specific proposals by a few NRAs for: Meetings to be organised with lower frequency or with higher/lower duration More physical meetings, in particular back-to-back with other relevant meetings (AGWG, CAM Roadmap) Participation from DG ENER at these meetings should be held by Unit B2 Proposals put forward regarding topics and organisation of meetings Detailed results will be presented to NRAs at next GRI Coord. meeting
