Entry requirements: * GCSE Grade C or equivalent in Maths and English; * Strong academic record at A-level or equivalent; * Good honours degree or equivalent (2ii or above) with a 50% subject content 17/01/2019

How we select our trainees: All assessments undertaken by university tutors and trained school based mentors Numeracy and literacy test (numeracy test not used for selection purposes for ML applicants, only used to identify support during the course) Group discussion Presentation Interview Subject knowledge tasks 17/01/2019

MA (Education) with QTS Our PGCE is at ‘M-level’ so trainees can opt to continue part-time after the PGCE year and obtain an MA in Education; Trainees need slightly higher marks on the formal assignments in order to follow the MA course; The MA requires 180 credits – they can acquire 60 on the PGCE course; The remaining credits are gained part-time over two years (including 60 for a dissertation in the third year). 17/01/2019

Pattern of training full time (provisional) 3rd Sept: Preliminary School placements (ML trainees spend 1 week in a primary school and 1 week in a secondary school) 17th Sept - end of Oct: Mainly university based training Mid - Oct: Placement A (4 days in University) Early Jan: University based training Mid Jan - March: Placement B (2 days in University) March: University based training April - May: Placement A or C (1 day in University) June: University based training and school-based enhancement experience 17/01/2019
