Identify the problem Repeating comments on pupils writing
Pupils struggling to remember the many elements to include in quality writing Difficult to find a shared language to talk about next steps with pupils and parents Pupils feeling that there was always ‘another thing’ to do and lacking a sense of achievement

Devise a plan Identify the key purpose:
Explicitly communicate next steps with pupils Create a common language Personalised ‘ladder’ to success Research the practice of others Within school, cluster and further afield Keep the focus on the pupils needs Play around with ideas, before bringing into the classroom

How does it feel in the classroom? Monitor success Devise A plan What could you try out and how will it look in the classroom? Who else might benefit from your work and how can you share it with them? Reflect & share Implement A solution How are you going to introduce your idea to pupils? How could you adapt the idea further? Could other colleagues work with you?
