2. A little bit of history.. EcoBase KiECO
Ecological data storage software developed by HyQuest Solutions (NZ) Ltd in 2008.
4 customers in NZ – Auckland Council, Waikato Regional Council, Otago Regional Council & Environment Southland
KiECO
Developed by KISTERS in 2012 as an extension to KiWQM to deal with biological sampling data.

3. Migration Path..
HyQuest Solutions – wholly owned subsidiary of the KISTERS Group.
Late 2015 – Discussions started with respect to the Migration considering the facts that: -
Duplication is occurring in the form of competing products and effort to maintain the two ecological databases incur additional cost to KISTERS.
EcoBase - not a commercial viable product.
Decisions made in early 2016
1 July EcoBase Product development freeze.
1 July 2016 to 1 July 2017 – EcoBase Migration Period – Current customers had the option to nominate that they would like to move to KiECO.
1 July 2017 – EcoBase – Unsupported Product.
EcoBase – Simple ecological data storage system with limited capabilities. KiECO has more functional features than EcoBase.

4. Auckland Council - Migration
First customer to put their hands up to migrate to KiECO
Most Complex Data Structure
Late Demonstration via TeamViewer by Vicky Isaac (Senior Consultant - KISTERS Pty Australia). Installed KiECO software on the Cloud Server and imported some test data.
Feb 2017 – Meeting in Hamilton for further discussions and made changes to the structure based on the feedback provided by AC.
Taxonomy list provided by AC imported into KiECO.
April 2017 – Actual Data Migration Started – Vicky & myself worked together
First week of June - Training provided by Vicky Isaac
July 2017 – Migration Completed.
2. Auckland have allsorts of data – Marine, Freshwater, Terrestrial – Forest and Wetland (most tricky ones). Jade never managed to put load her terrestrial data into EcoBase because of the limitations of the software. And she is happy that she could load them into KiECO.
