3
Pronouns with Commands
Placements depend on if the command is affirmative or negative
4
Placement with Affirmative
All you do is attach the pronoun to the Command form of the verb Let’s command him: take us to the supermarket. Let’s break it down: Llevar (to take) is our verb. Make it a usted command- Lleve We want him to take us.. so our pronoun is nos Let’s put it together- Llévenos al supermercado.
5
Let’s try it! Poner-to put Las cosas- things En la mesa- table
Command them to: Put the things on the table. Poner-to put Las cosas- things En la mesa- table What is it? Pónganlas en la mesa.
6
What’s with the accents?
The 3-1 rule. If you have a three syllable word, there needs to be an accent on the first syllable of the word. Example Pon/gan/las There’s our 3 syllables so we need to put an accent on the first one, pon. So it becomes Pónganlas
7
Placement with the Negative
Need to make a Negative command sandwich The Pronoun needs to go in between the NO and the COMMAND. Don’t take us to the supermarket. Llevar- Lleve Nos- us Al supermercado- to the supermarket No nos lleve al supermercado.
8
Let’s practice! No lo prueben.
You want to warn someone not to taste something. Tell them: Don’t taste it (the bread). Probar- to taste or try- Prueben Lo- it No- Don’t No lo prueben.
