3. Old Testament Vows
Apart from certain OT obligations like tithes, first fruits, and firstborn sons, many vows were entirely voluntary, free-will, not commanded
But all vows, voluntary or not, must be kept!

4. Laws Concerning Vows Leviticus 27
Redeemable Things (vv. 1-25)
People (vv. 1-8)
Animals (vv. 9-13)
Property (vv )
Unredeemable Things (vv )
Firstborn animals (vv )
Devoted things (vv )
Tithes (vv )

5. Keep Your Word Vows made must be kept (Num. 30:2)
Vows do not have to be made (Deut. 23:21-23)
Don’t make rash vows (Lev. 5:4; Prov. 20:25; Eccl. 5:1-7)
Don’t change your vow (Lev. 27:10,33)
Know that vow-breaking is a sin (Rom. 1:31; Tim. 1:10)
