Figure 1 LC-CUSUM tests for ultrasound diagnosis of endometriomas in four trainees. LC-CUSUM scores are plotted in terms of the successive procedures, evaluating performance in the diagnosis of endometriomas by the degree of concordance with an expert. As long as the score remains under the decision limit (dotted line), the trainee is not considered as proficient. When the LC-CUSUM score crosses this limit, the trainee is considered to have learned the procedure. A particular feature of the LC-CUSUM is that it incorporates a holding barrier at zero that cannot be crossed and the score St thus remains at zero if the trainee accumulates numerous successive failures.
