1 Essential Question: How do major organ systems work together in living organisms?
Standards: GSES7L2b: Develop and use a conceptual model of how cells are organized into tissues, tissues into organs, organs into systems, and systems into organisms. GSES7L2c: Construct an argument that systems of the body interasct with one another to carry out life processes. Instructional Approach(s): The teacher should use the slide to introduce the essential question and the standards that align to the essential question

2 If your bones allow movement, and your muscles move your body, how do we control all of this movement? Instructional Approach(s): The teacher should present the information on the slide. The teacher can briefly gather responses from students or click to the next slide.

3 The Nervous System This system is responsible for sending, receiving, and interpreting information from all parts of the body. Instructional Approach(s): The teacher should present the information on the slide while the students record the important information on the function section of the Nervous System graphic organizer

4 The Brain The control center of your body sends out and receives signals to and from your nerves; controls organs Instructional Approach(s): The teacher should present the information on the slide while the students record the important information on the Brain section of the Nervous System graphic organizer

5 Connects your brain to the rest of the nerves in your body
Spinal Cord Connects your brain to the rest of the nerves in your body Instructional Approach(s): The teacher should present the information on the slide while the students record the important information on the Spinal Cord section of the Nervous System graphic organizer

6 Nerves Sense your external and internal surroundings
Communicate information between your brain, spinal cord and muscles Coordinate voluntary and involuntary movements Instructional Approach(s): The teacher should present the information on the slide while the students record the important information on the Nerves section of the Nervous System graphic organizer
