Announcer – Preparation Determine game level (Squirt/Peewee etc.) Determine game type (Semi-Final, 3rd Place etc.) Obtain team rosters from scorekeeper or tournament director and review Inquire to team coach or team manager for difficult name pronunciations Test microphone prior to game Announcer – Starting Lineups Due to ice time constraints – announcing starting lineups may be limited to Championship, 3rd Place, and Consolation Championship games only Provide “WAHC Starting Lineup” forms to coaches or team managers prior to the game Announce starting 3 forwards, 2 defense, and goalie from each team.

Welcome “Good Evening…Welcome everyone to the 2017 Woodbury Rumble!!!” “Today’s Peewee B1, Championship game features the Hastings Raiders versus the Woodbury Predators” Choices are: League Game Pool Game (Pool A, Pool B etc.) Quarter-Final, Semi-Final, Championship, 3rd Place, Consolation Semi-Final, Consolation Final Starting Line Ups May be done only for Championship, Consolation Championship, and 3rd Place Game only due to ice time constraints “And now…the starting line-up for Woodbury” “Starting at Center, #12, John Smith” Continue with Right Wing, Left Wing, Defense, Defense, and Goalie “…and the rest of the Woodbury Predators” Start of Game “LET’S PLAY HOCKEY!!!”

Post-game - Championship, Consolation Championship, and 3rd Place games “Congratulations to both teams and to the Woodbury Rumble Champions…the Hastings Raiders!!!” “Will the Captains for the runner-up Farmington Tigers please come to the scorers desk to receive your runner-up trophy” Determine if time and logistics allow to announce each player for medal ceremony. If yes, then do so. “And now…the presentation of medals to the 3rd place Woodbury Predators…#1 John Smith…#2 Tom Anderson…#3 Joe Johnson….” Teams may remain on ice for pictures and celebration. Make note of upcoming games or ice rink employees wanting to resurface and make announcement if necessary to clear the ice.

WAHC provided CD player or personal electronic devices can be used for music during WAHC hosted tournament games Test all music players and microphones prior to game Volunteers can provide their own music if it is age appropriate and contains “clean” versions of songs Music can be played during: Warm Up Whistle Stoppages Period Intermissions Championship Celebrations Ice Resurfacing Check with referees or crowd members for volume level adjustments Reduce volume or refrain from playing music when referee is speaking to official scorer.
