ironic – (adj.) using words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning
saddled – (verb) to give a burden or responsibility
Nobody was trying to be ironic when they saddled him with the nickname “Scary Terry.”
aspiring – (verb) to yearn (for) or have a powerful or ambitious plan, desire, or hope
You might also think he’s one of those annoying aspiring rapper dudes.
coincidence – (noun) a chance occurrence of events remarkable either for being simultaneous or for being connected
If it happens to rhyme, it’s just a coincidence.
stoked – (adj.) very pleased; excited
Nick is probably just earning points with his girlfriend here, but I’m stoked that he’s involved.
taunted - (verb) to provoke or make fun of in a sarcastic, insulting manner.
And the bigger one, like, taunted him with a kissing noise and got punched.
gawk – (verb) to stare stupidly
I gawk out of my polyurethane prison to watch her struggling to stand and untwist her panties.
clarify – (verb) to make an idea or statement clearer or easier to understand
