<month year> doc.: IEEE <doc#> Project: IEEE P Working Group for Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPANs) Submission Title: [Japanese Radio Regulations for RFID in 433MHz,2.4GHz and UWB ] Date Submitted: [17 May, 2010] Source: [Masashi Shimizu] Company [NTT] Address [ Hikarinooka Yokosuka Japan] Voice:[ ], FAX: [ ], Re: [ Abstract: [This document has been shown data rate availability by using market available typical UHF LSI to keep Japanese RR in 433MHz] Purpose: [Understanding Japanese RR] Notice: . 2 Data rate availability in 433MHz with in Japanese RR
NTT Masashi Shimizu

3 433MHz 1.74MHz 10mW ETSI (ECC DEC(04)02) 1MHz 5.6mW USA (FCC15.240)
200KHz 1mW DUTY 10% Japan (ARIB STD-T92) 433.05 433.5 433.82 434.02 434.5 434.79 433.92MHz 433MHz

4 Assumed 433MHz basic system
Wakeup Tags Ack Command Interrogator Response

5 433MHz in JAPAN

6 User requirements 433MHz can be used just international logistics. It means user or this products will be limit for international logistics companies. Low cost High reading accuracy Automatic Identifying the container number Seal monitor function

7 Data rate limit by using market available LSI (SI4421)
38.4Kbps BFSK Deviation 30KHz makes 180.5KHz bandwidth

8 Data rate limit by using market available LSI (CC1100)
38.4Kbps BFSK Deviation 32KHz makes 179.2KHz bandwidth

9 SIPG Container Yard A 300m radius cell is assumed. One island block is composed of 40X6X6 containers. One reader can cover 8 islands. This means there are containers in a cell maximum.

10 Estimated Reading time of 10000 Tags in a Cell
Beacon Interval TX time: 10mSec 38.4Kbps 384bit payload including Preamble and CRC PA Pure ALOHA CS -100 CSMA With -100dBm sensitivity CS -110 CSMA With -110dBm sensitivity

11 Results 38.4Kbps is the maximum data rate within market available UHF LSI to keep Japanese RR in 433MHz. To read tags (based on real container yard situation) it is need 5000 second with 200 second beacon interval. It can reduce to 800 second by using CSMA. It is need some real use dense models, power and duty limitation should be set for beacon only tags to achieve optimal reading time.
