Now do the tasks from sheet 2.8. Make sure your diagrams are clearly and fully labelled as well as described in writing. Use the information on the top of page 26 to explain how a beach is formed by deposition. Try to mention constructive and destructive waves as well. Explain the differences in features and formation between a bar and a spit. Extension: Look at diagram C of Exmouth spit. Describe the location of the caravan park and golf course on the spit. Why do you think they have been positioned here and not toward the end of the spit?
