Last chance to take the ACT or SAT Cal State Application UC Application Private College Applications Submit the FAFSA These are things you can do 1st semester of your Senior year: Same as you can do right now: make up Fs, make up Ds, and take the SAT or ACT. You're also gonna submit your college applications: 1. Cal States in October and November 2. UCs in November 3. Private colleges in October, November, and December. 4. Students applying to Community College will begin this process in February.

rowlandhs.org > Counseling > Applying to College > CSU/Cal States > Cal State Application DO NOT go to csumentor.edu $55 per campus 2.0 GPA No recommendation letter required Apply online between October 1-November 30 2.0 GPA in a-g courses in grades 10 & 11 Application is available at: csumentor.edu Submit one application per campus ($55 per campus) Essay & extracurricular activities are NOT required No letter of recommendation required Send your ACT scores to one campus only. Then go to csumentor.edu to release it to all CSUs you applied to. Send your SAT scores to csumentor.org: code 3594 (this allows all CSUs to see your score)

Private College Apps Private college requirements, applications, and deadlines vary. For your letter of recommendation, submit a Brag Sheet to your counselor 3 weeks before your 1st private college app deadline. November 30 is the deadline to submit a request for a letter of recommendation to your counselor or teachers When you request a letter of recommendation from your counselor, you'll need to a typed Brag Sheet Private college requirements, applications, and deadlines vary by college Consult with individual college websites to get specific information

College Advising One-on-one with your counselor September-December
Be patient, your turn will come. If you have an urgent college-related matter, your counselor. Counselors will be calling in seniors individually to discuss college plans Seniors will be called out of class between September-December Go to your counselor’s office on the day and time you are called. If you cannot miss class, it is your responsibility to make another appointment with your counselor (if you so desire)

Financial Aid Grants Loans Scholarships FAFSA Apply Individually October 1st- March 2nd Ongoing FAFSA: Free Application for Federal Student Aid There are 3 different types of financial aid: Grants, Loans, and Scholarships. Grants & Scholarships are free, Loans you have to repay. To be eligible for either Grants or Loans, it starts with the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) in January of your Senior year. Scholarships are different and are offered all throughout your senior year. We recommend creating an account at fastweb.com which is the best scholarship search site out there.
