11 Wise Sayings

12 A Life Worth Saving A man risked his life by swimming through the dangerous riptide to save a youngster being swept out to sea. After the child recovered from the harrowing experience, he said to the man, "Thank you for saving my life. The man looked into the little boy's eyes and said, "That's okay, kid. Just make sure your life was worth saving."

13 Life is an Echo A son and his father were walking in the mountains. Suddenly, no matter what they said, somewhere in the mountain always echoed the same thing. The boy was surprised about that, but said nothing more. Then the father explains: "People call this echo, but really this is life. It gives you back everything you say or do. Our life is simply a reflection of our actions. If you want more love in the world, create more love in your heart. If you want more competence in your team, improve your competence. This relationship applies to everything, in all aspects of life; life will give you back everything you have given to it."

14 Edison, the Man (in1940) Edison almost lost everything trying to create an electric light bulb. He knew that he was trying to do something that scientists had proclaimed impossible. Still, he kept working on the light bulb, testing more than 9,000 substances as filaments. When one of his colleagues said, “we’re as sorry as you are that you haven’t gotten any results, ”he replied, “Results? Man, I got a lot of results. I now know 9,000 things that won’t work.
