What are other ideals? Why do these things change? Do they ever stay the same? Ask what they know about the term “ideal.” Think pair share about other questions and jot down on board. Transition: “One ideal that we’re going to explore in this unit is the hero.”

Set up your paper in MLA format. (This is the format you will use on all final drafts.) In a well-developed paragraph, synthesize the information we discussed today along with your own personal definition of a hero to answer the question: What is a hero?
