1. FY17 Preliminary SB Goal Achievement
The numbers tell this story better.
As an organization and during Fiscal Year 2017, of the total Small Business eligible dollars, which is $986 Million, - we awarded $445 Million of prime contracts to small business firms. As noted on the slide, this represents the 45% Small Business goal achievement during Fiscal Year 17 that far exceeded our 35% small business goal or target.
This marks the 5th consecutive year that we achieved an increase in overall Small Business prime contract award percentages. In addition, the Small Disadvantaged Business, or SDB percentage achieved of 23 percent far exceeded the previous fiscal year 2016 achievement which was 19 percent. The Woman -Owned Small Business achievement percentage in Fiscal Year 17 was 8.25%, which is also noteworthy. These are trends we hope to continue through the combined efforts of both our internal and external stakeholders. During Fiscal Year 2018, we will make a concerted effort to improve our awards in the Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, and Historically Underutilized Business Zone categories.
