Social Aztec: - Most Aztec men were warriors but, could also be doctors, farmers, or priest (but warriors were glorified) -Women dominated the household -Polygamy was allowed -Women could run businesses out of their home -Two classes: Nobility(pilli); Common people (macehualli) Inca: -Women cared for the house, worked in fields, and wove clothes. -Aristocracy were allowed to practice polygamy -Women married at 16; men married at 20 Aztec Warrior Aztec Women Inca Woman

Political Aztec: -Ruled by Montezuma located in the capital, Tenochtitlan -Warrior-kings seen as divine -They didn’t control territories directly Inca: -Ruled by theocracy-sun-god -They divided territories that were conquered and gave each one a governor Montezuma

Interactions Aztec: -When the Spanish Explorers arrived, the Indigenous people acquired many diseases such as the smallpox that they couldn’t cure and many died. -Many aztec tools were made of obsidian and chert. Inca: -The Inca used bundles of cord to keep numerical records. (Quipus)

Culture Aztec: -Art created as an expression of religion
-Painted on walls of temples and made mask for religious ceremonies Inca: -Mummification _Gold and silver statues were often buried with Inca human sacrifices -Used a building technique in which shaped stones perfectly fit together without cement (masonry) Aztec Art Inca Masonry

Economic Aztec: -Forced territories to pay tribute in goods
-Free market trade was important Inca: -Forced territories to pay tribute in labor and goods -Government redistributed most goods
