2. I. SOURCES OF ENERGY

4. II. THE TWO STAGES OF PHOTOSYNTHESIS
a. During __PHOTOSYTHNSIS__ plants and some other organisms use __ENERGY__ from the __SUN__ to convert __CARBON DIOXIDE__ and __WATER__ into __OXYGEN__ and __SUGAR__.

5. 1. Stage 1: Capturing the Sun’s Energy
a. The __FIRST__ stage of __PHOTOSYNTHESIS__ involves __CAPTURING__ the energy in __SUNLIGHT__
b. Energy capturing process occurs __MOSTLY__ in the __LEAVES__.
c. The __ORGANELLES__ in the leaves are __CHLOROPLASTS__
d. The __GREEN__ color comes from __PIGMENTS__, that __ABSORB__ lights.
e. The __MAIN__ photosynthetic __PIGMENT__ in chloroplasts is __CHLOROPHYLL__.

6. 2. Stage 2: Using Energy to Make Food
a. __CELLS__ uses the __CAPTURED__ energy to produce __SUGARS__ or __GLUCOSE__
b. Raw materials: __WATER__ (H2O) and __CARBON DIOXIDE__ (CO2)
c. __ROOTS__ absorb __WATER__ from the __GROUND__

7. 3. The Photosynthesis Equation
