2. What is a paragraph?
A paragraph is an organized block of sentences that develops one part of a piece of writing.
A well-developed paragraph consists of an introductory sentence, two or more supporting sentences, and a concluding sentence.

This sentence refers to the topic and sums up the main idea of the paragraph.
Supporting Sentence
This sentence gives specific details relating to the main idea or topic (i.e. examples, facts). The more supporting sentences there are, the more specific the details become.
Introductory Sentence
This sentence tells the reader the main idea, or what the paragraph is about.

Descriptive: A descriptive paragraph describes someone or something. The words chosen in the description often appeal to the five senses of touch, smell, sight, sound, and taste.
