Acorn Preschool, Vane Close, Dussindale Primary School,
Norwich, NR7 0US Facebook Group: Acorn Preschool Norwich Welcome back everyone! We hope you’ve all had a lovely summer holiday. As most of you have now already met me but for those I am yet to meet I am Zoë Cramer and would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new Preschool Manager. As a little background I have previously worked for 10 years as childminder, whilst raising my own children and studying for my BA Early Years (Hons). I have since worked as Deputy Manageress at Stretton Preparatory School for 18 months. I am now looking forward to getting started in my new role here at Acorn Preschool. Also joining me in the office is our new Administrator, Sarah Bird who some of you I am sure will already know. Sarah has 3 children, the youngest of whom has been at Acorn and just moved up to school this year . Her back ground is in Business & Finance and she is excited to be able to bring those skills to her role & continue her connection with Acorn from the other side! First of all this half term we will be saying a big hello to our new intake of children and the staff will be working towards getting everyone settled into their new routines. We also say a big hello back to our existing children and we have been finding out all about what they have been up to over the summer break. We trust that all transitions into preschool will be smooth but should you have any questions to please see either your key person or myself to ask any questions. For questions relating to funding, invoicing or other matters please come and see either myself or Sarah in the office Dates & Times for your diary: Morning session timings: Doors open 8.45 – Collect at 11.45 Lunch Club – 12.15 Afternoon session timings: Doors open at – Collect at 3.15 AGM: Monday 1st October 3.30pm to 5.00pm Parents Drop in Sessions : Monday 15th October 3.30pm to 5.00pm Tuesday 16th October 3.30pm to 5.00pm This provides a great opportunity for you to keep in contact with your child’s key person and see what your child has been up to. Acorn Preschool, Vane Close, Dussindale Primary School,
Norwich, NR7 0US Facebook Group: Acorn Preschool Norwich Update from our Committee: Summer Party Success At the end of last term we had our annual summer party, where our children had a wonderful time. We hosted a summer raffle, with some fantastic prizes thanks to the kindness of a number of different businesses and organisations. But, a big THANK YOU to all our parents for buying tickets and selling them to friends and family, which resulted in raising £467.00! The money we raised was used towards some of the party costs and for improvement to our outside area. Below are the details of all our amazing donors: Parent Hamper donations, Marks and Spencer’s, The Merchants of Spice, Brewers Fayre, Sea Life Centre, The Rush Cutters, Norfolk Museums, Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden, Bure Valley Railway, Orchards Toys, Archers Butchers, Forestry Commission – High Lodge, Nanny’s Cakes, Amanda Impey Nails, Mini-monkeys gym, Spree Books, High Altitude, and Norfolk Snowsport Club Fundraising News: Raised bed revamp Last term our raised bed area for the children became unsafe to use, due to weathering and wear and tear. Over the summer holidays one of our Mum’s and Grandad’s stepped up to the challenge and built a new raised bed area for our children to play in. The sleepers were sourced from D Gooch Sheds and Fencing who kindly offered us a discount. Thank you Maxine Holsworth and Kevin Platten for volunteering your time and an amazing job! Cool Dealings! Another thank you to one of our parents Hannah Pulford and her brother, for sourcing free materials to help build shaded areas for our children on sunny days! Acorn Pre-school is a registered charity and we rely on fundraising activities to raise money to buy equipment, toys, books and fund pleasurable activities, such as parties and trips for our children. If you would like to be involved in fundraising then please me on – it would be great to hear from you!
