2) Complete another trial run of the titration lab on acids and bases.

3 Learning Targets During the years of grades 9 through 12, all students must use the following scientific processes with appropriate laboratory safety techniques to construct their knowledge and understanding in all science content areas:  Identify questions and concepts that guide scientific investigations;  Design and conduct scientific investigations;  Use technology and mathematics to improve investigations and communications;  Formulate and revise explanations and models using logic and evidence (critical thinking);  Recognize and analyze explanations and models; and  Communicate and support a scientific argument.

analyze data and construct graphs that demonstrate the information from this data. make metric conversions. Ex. Meters to kilometers 3) use dimensional analysis to convert units make measurements to the correct significant figure by estimating the last uncertain number. write numbers in scientific notation identify correct significant digits.

1) Identify an element, its mass and charge by its number of protons, neutrons, and electrons. 2) Explain that all atoms of an element have the same atomic number. Compare isotopes of elements by their protons, neutrons, and electrons. I can use properties of elements as clues to identify mystery or unknown elements.

Write formulas of ionic compounds (monotomic) Write formulas for covalent compounds. Determine whether a compound is ionic or covalent. Name covalent compounds. Classify matter as homogenous or heterogeneous.
