1 FOR WHAT SHOULD WE PRAY? MATTHEW 6:9-13

2 Matthew 6:9-13 Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

God already knows what we need v.8 We should still ask Frequency implied in “this day” 1 Th 5:17 We are taught to pray for physical needs Praying in faith according to God’s will also means doing what God said to get it 2 Thess. 3:10

We are taught to pray for spiritual needs Praying in faith according to God’s will also means doing what God said to get it Luke 23:33 fulfilled in Acts 2:36-41 Repent + be baptized  remission of sins In Christ, repent and pray Acts 8:22 as we forgive our debtors. v.14-15

9 Matthew 6:9-13 And do not lead us into temptation,
God’s assurance James 1:13,17-18 Trust in God’s love 1 John 4:16 If God allows testing (1 Peter 1:6-9), He places limits on it 1 Cor. 10:13 but deliver us from the evil one. God’s promise 1 Cor. 10:13 Lay God’s word in your heart Ps. 119:11

10 Matthew 6:9-13 For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Not in the original text but in other texts Jude to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. ESV
