Between 2006 and 2013, methamphetamine accounted for the largest number of drug arrests in Jackson County. The number of methamphetamine and heroin related fatalities increased sharply in the county in the last two years; deaths due to methamphetamine use reached a high of 11 and heroin deaths reached a high of 10 in 2012, the most recent data available. Also in 2012, admissions for substance abuse treatment in the county were highest for marijuana, followed by controlled prescription drugs, methamphetamine, heroin, and cocaine. With the exception of calendar years 2008 and 2011, the quantity of outdoor plants seized in Jackson County between 2007 and 2013 was significantly higher per capita when compared to the HIDTA region and Oregon. However, outdoor plant seizures dropped over 90 percent between 2007 (54,362) and 2013 (4,424). The number of indoor marijuana plants seized in the county rose over threefold from 2007 (120) to 2013 (450). The amount of medical marijuana cardholders grew over 650 percent in Jackson County from April 2006 (963) to October 2013 (7,276), exceeding per capita averages for the HIDTA region and Oregon. County Arrests Return to arrests page The number of methamphetamine arrests in Jackson County rose threefold between 2008 and Arrests increased steadily for marijuana between 2006 and 2010, but then fell 50 percent between 2010 and Heroin arrests in 2013 were eleven times the number reported in the county in 2006, whereas cocaine arrests declined during the same period.

Clandestine Labs Jackson County reported methamphetamine laboratory seizures in 2005 (6), 2006 (6), 2008 (3), 2011 (1), and 2012 (1). The county reported one DMT lab in 2013.
