11 Note-Taking in Class Handwritten Notes Organized notes = helpful!
Important to take notes in class! Write down connections, thoughts, questions to ask, etc. – not just what is on the slide or in the book Important to study the notes, rather than re- reading the book or ppt.

12 Tips for Success Keep up with the reading notes Online Resources
USE THE AP EXAM TIPS AND YOUR FOLDOUTS! Online Resources Freemanpedia Textbook Quizlet CrashCourse Videos Kahoot! Get a Review Book AMSCO is the one I recommend but you can also use Princeton Review, etc.

13 Study Tips Do not study facts in isolation. Instead compare to other people and events, analyze change over time, etc. Do not re-read the book – use notes Create a timeline and fill it in Think of history as a movie with characters, plot lines, intrigue, antagonists, etc. Choose an actor for different historical figures – if there was a movie, who should play him/her?

14 The Exam Cost = $95 (Assistance is available for those who qualify for Free Lunch) Sign Up = Students will sign up in March or end of February. Price goes up from $80 each week until April. Location = CDO Thursday, May 16, 8:00 am Arrive early, I’ll provide breakfast 4+ Hours 55 Question Multiple Choice 3 Short Answer Questions 10-15 Minute Break 2 Essays (Mentioned Earlier)

15 Earning College Credit
How is the AP Exam scored? A scale of 1-5, with 5 being the highest A score of 3 is considered “passing” the exam What earns you college Credit? 3, 4, or 5 depending on the institution.

16 Weighted Grade Your student will have an “unweighted” and a “weighted” GPA on his or her transcript. Colleges may “unweight” it, but they will also pay close attention to what types of classes your student took. How does your student get the weighted grade? Take the AP Exam in May Score does not matter! Score will not affect your grade on your transcript.
