1 Brickstreet Insurance – Prophix story
Operating since: 2006 Head office: Charleston, West Virginia Annual revenue: $399 million Number of employees: 500 G/L or ERP: Lawson Company website: Company background: BrickStreet Insurance, doing business as BrickStreet Mutual Insurance Company, provides workers' compensation plans for businesses. The company also provides safety and loss control services, such as safety assessments, education and training, safety program development, loss analysis, and ergonomic evaluations; and return to work and medical network services. It offers its plans through a network of professional independent insurance agents in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. Business problems that lead to evaluating CPM, adopting Prophix: Workbook Preparation - A great deal of manual work was required to prepare templates in the Excel environment. Simple adjustments like updating a formula had to be made manually to each and every user’s template. Furthermore, providing either historical or target data in a user’s template for reference purposes was entirely manual and could require weeks of effort.

Business problems (continued): Consolidating data – The process of consolidating user templates was entirely manual and, as such, required significant effort that was prone to human error. Budget revisions – Changes to the budget were often required after management review, but these changes were extremely tedious and time consuming to make. To see the resulting effects in the entire consolidated budget required updating all spreadsheets, and there was a lack of control over the change process (i.e. making one change could throw off other formulas, or data may be lost/forgotten). Project solutions: ODBC integration with Lawson allows for automation of processes and removes chance of human error with data Data consolidation is done automatically in Prophix Standard templates allow for data changes to flow through entire budget Budget revisions are automated through workflow which allows for more control over the budgeting process. Also, allowing for quicker data changes and approvals
