1 Mrs. Hake’s Friday, Oct.19th edition CLASSROOM news Week in Review: Sneak Preview We loved our AM centers this week.. Fine Motor Halloween sorting, pumpkin making, and haunted house drawing. OH MY! We discussed position words and practiced them on a bat paper. We also wrote about what we are going to be for Halloween and made a class book for everyone to read. We continue to work on stretching words out and to write what we hear. In math, we learned and practiced more numbers. Theme for the Week: Seasons… Leaves, umbrellas and more Letters of the Week: L and U Science/Social Studies: Seasons Math: Number 6 and sorting and classifying Rainbow Words: it/we Upcoming Events: October –Book Fair/Grandparent Lunch October 31 – Halloween Parties November 1 – Conferences (4:00-7:00) November 6 – Conferences (4:00-7:00) November 7 – PIE Meeting 9:30 November 9 – Pretzel Money Due November 13 – Picture Retakes Contact info: Kari Hake

Halloween Party  Our classroom Halloween Party will be on October 31st.th. It will be from Parents are welcome, but not obligated to attend our celebration. Students will parade in their costumes at the Tipp Middle School and LT Ball in the AM. The students are encouraged to come to school in costume with the following guidelines: •No weapons (swords, guns, etc.) •No face paint •Nothing that obstructs the students’ ability to walk, sit, talk, use the restroom independently, and/or play. •Students who will be wearing costumes MUST come wearing them. Students will not be permitted to change at school. The students will go to recess and participate in regular classroom activities before the party. Look for sight words in commercial print and while reading with your child. Practice writing the numbers 0-5 in pumpkin, shaving cream, cool whip, or applesauce. Sound out to write a grocery list for the week. Continue practicing the letters that we have learned by finding things in the house that start with that letter, Keep practicing name writing every day. Keep Reading! Fall Clothing: Please make sure your child comes to school with a jacket or coat. It is starting to get chilly outside, especially during our morning recess.
