Global Community High School Rules and Expectations

Student Discipline Students are expected to show respect for:
Adults on campus Other students Self Rules School Campus

Student Dress Code Dress for SUCCESS- Shirts:
Students must be in dress code prior to entering campus and while on campus at all times. Shirts: White, Gray or Blue collared shirts. “Polo” style only. Undershirts may be worn, under the approved attire. White, Gray or Blue sweaters or sweatshirts may also be worn. Jackets or zippered hoodies may be worn but must have the appropriate polo shirt exposed underneath. Note: NO LOGOS bigger than the size of a .25 cent coin except the school’s logo can be worn on shirts, sweaters, or coats.

Student Dress Code Pants, Shorts, and Skirts:
Pants must be Blue, Khaki or Gray in color. Female students may wear Blue, Tan or Gray skirts in accordance to CCSD standard length. Note: No Blue Jeans permitted other than: Wednesdays with college shirt Fridays with Global shirt STUDENTS THAT DO NOT FOLLOW THE DRESS CODE POLICY WILL BE REQUIRED TO CHANGE THEIR CLOTHING TO APPROPRIATE SCHOOL ATTIRE. REPEAT DRESS CODE VIOLATIONS WILL RESULT IN CONSEQUENCES FOR DISREGARD OF SCHOOL RULES.

Cellular Phones Cell phones are to be used for instructional purposes only while in the classroom. Cell phones may be used during passing, lunch and before or after school for non-instructional purpose. Students who need to send or receive a phone call during class/instructional time are permitted to use the phone in the main office.

Prohibited: Distractible/Controversial/ Health or Safety Hazard
No facial jewelry such as lip piercings or on the eyebrow are acceptable on campus. Headphones or earphones are not to be worn during instructional time unless being used for instructional purposes. They may be used before and after school and during lunch only. Students must wear shoes with hard soles. Slippers, socks, and other beach wear are not permitted. Items that may be related to gang activity or worn for the purpose of identifying gang affiliations are not to be worn. No slogans or advertising which are obscene, controversial, and disrupt the educational setting.

EVERY STUDENT – EVERY DAY – EVERY PERIOD!
Tardy Policy EVERY STUDENT – EVERY DAY – EVERY PERIOD! BEING ON TIME MATTERS!!! A student that is tardy to one or more classes multiple times may receive any of the following consequences: Required Parent Conference (RPC)

Absences/Truancies Absence notes are to be turned in to the front office. Include students name, identification number, date(s) and reason for absence including a parent/guardian signature. It is the students responsibility to collect make-up work from teachers when returning from an absence. Pre-arranged absences must be made at least 48 hours in advance. STUDENTS WHO HAVE MULTIPLE UNEXCUSED ABSENCES MAY LOSE CREDIT FOR THAT SEMESTER. STUDENTS WHO WANT TO OBTAIN A DRIVER’S LICENSE OR PERMIT MUST MEET ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS TO BE GRANTED PERMISSION TO APPLY. STUDENTS WHO ARE HABITUALLY ABSENT OR TRUANT AFTER OBTAINING A DRIVER’S LICENSE OR PERMIT RISK HAVING THEIR LICENSED SUSPENDED FROM THE DMV.

Cafeteria/Lunch Rules and Procedures
No cutting in line Throw away your trash Students are to remain in cafeteria/quad only. No student is permitted to be in the hallways or outside during lunch. Student are only permitted to use the bathroom outside the main office during lunch periods. Students are NOT permitted to: BE IN THE HALLWAYS, INCLUDING OUTSIDE THE MAIN OFFICE LEAVE CAMPUS HAVE LUNCH DELIVERED NO FOOD OR DRINK, OTHER THAN WATER, IS PERMITTED OUTSIDE OF THE CAFETERIA AT ANY TIME.

Profanity Profanity in the classrooms or on the Global campus – in any language - will not be tolerated. Students using profanity will be disciplined appropriately.

Harassment Harassing, bullying, teasing, threatening, picking on, or making fun of others will NOT be tolerated. This includes Cyber bullying through internet sites such as Twitter/Facebook or phone text. Students who harass others will be disciplined appropriately.

Verbal Altercations/Fighting
Verbal altercations or loud arguments lead to large group gatherings, campus disturbances, and fights. Students involved in these altercations will be disciplined appropriately.

Expulsions Arson Assault/Battery of any CCSD Employee
Controlled Substances Immoral Conduct Weapons

In order for students to be successful, a safe school environment is necessary.
