By the end of class today, you will have finished all of your data collection.
Before we finish data collection, we are going to practice how to estimate height from the length of a long bone.

For maximum length of the femur and humerus, you already recorded this in the table for those bones on page 2.
For tibia, you will need to use the large calipers to determine the maximum length.

One with a subtraction here and one with an addition here!

Identify the formula you will use by finding the bone first, then looking at the gender and race.
Make sure the maximum length of the bone is in centimeters
Write out the formula twice, first with the subtraction sign, then the addition sign
Substitute the Maximum Length of the bone and solve

11. Height Determination
To convert from cm to inches, you will divide your answer by 2.54.
To convert your answer from inches to feet, you will divide your new answer by 12.
This will give you a number and decimal point.
The whole number is your answer in feet. The decimal needs to be multiplied by 12 to get the number of inches.
