“…Christ was faithful as a Son over His house – whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope firm until the end.” Hebrews 3:6

God’s house is His holy, obedient children, who are partaking of the heavenly calling in Christ.
Adopted into God’s family through Christ (Ephesians 1:5; Romans 8:15) Enter this fellowship by an obedient faith (Romans 1:5; 6:16-17; Galatians 3:27) To be a glorious dwelling and sanctuary for the Father, the Son and the Spirit (Ephesians 2:22; 5:27; 1 Corinthians 3:16-17; 1 Peter 2:5)

“If we hold fast…firm unto the end” is revealing that being a member of God’s house is conditional.
We are God’s house and Christ’s house if… (Hebrews 3:6, 14). All alike can partake of the richness of God’s “olive tree” (Romans 11:17). What factors does God consider? Belief and unbelief (11:20)… Continuing in God’s goodness and disobedience (11:22)… Example of God’s people Israel (Hebrews 3:15-19)

God holds each child in His family accountable for how his behavior affects His household.
Brethren in the Lord can fall away from God. “Take care, brethren, that there not be any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God... Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience.” (Hebrews 3:12; 4:11). “I was very glad to find some of your children walking in truth, just as we have received commandment to do from the Father… Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God.” (2 John 4, 9)

God holds each child in His family accountable for how his behavior affects His household.
Truth and holiness are to govern all of our behavior in the house of God. “…I write so that you will know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.” (1 Timothy 3:15) “As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves in all your behavior.” (1 Peter 1:14-15)

God holds each child in His family accountable for how his behavior affects His household.
The church of God at Corinth was said to be “God’s field, God’s building” (1 Corinthians 1:2; 3:9). “Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.” (1 Corinthians 3:16-17)
