2. The Need
Ezekiel 22:30-31 (NASB77) 30  "And I searched for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one  "Thus I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; their way I have brought upon their heads," declares the Lord GOD.

3. The One Man Jesus
Isaiah 59:16-17 (NASB77) 16  And He saw that there was no man, And was astonished that there was no one to intercede; Then His own arm brought salvation to Him; And His righteousness upheld Him  And He put on righteousness like a breastplate, And a helmet of salvation on His head; And He put on garments of vengeance for clothing, And wrapped Himself with zeal as a mantle.

4. God Will Fulfill His Purpose
Isaiah 63:5 (NASB77) 5  "And I looked, and there was no one to help, And I was astonished and there was no one to uphold; So My own arm brought salvation to Me; And My wrath upheld Me.

5. Man Has Always Hidden From God
Genesis 3:8-10 (NASB77) 8 And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 Then the Lord God called to the man, and said to him, " Where are you?" 10 And he said, " I heard the sound of Thee in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself."

6. Man Has Always Made Excuses
Isaiah 6:5-7 (NASB77) 5  Then I said, " Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I live among a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts." 6  Then one of the seraphim flew to me, with a burning coal in his hand which he had taken from the altar with tongs. 7  And he touched my mouth with it and said, "Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away, and your sin is forgiven."

7. Feeling Inferior Is Normal
Jeremiah 1:6-7 (NASB) 6  Then I said, "Alas, Lord GOD! Behold, I do not know how to speak, Because I am a youth." 7  But the LORD said to me, "Do not say, 'I am a youth,' Because everywhere I send you, you shall go, And all that I command you, you shall speak.

2 Corinthians 10:10-12 (NASB77) 10  For they say, "His letters are weighty and strong, but his personal presence is unimpressive, and his speech contemptible." 11  Let such a person consider this, that what we are in word by letters when absent, such persons we are also in deed when present  For we are not bold to class or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves; but when they measure themselves by themselves, and compare themselves with themselves, they are without understanding.

9. Run Towards God Not Away
Jonah 1:3 (NASB77) 3 But Jonah rose up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. So he went down to Joppa, found a ship which was going to Tarshish, paid the fare, and went down into it to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.

2 Chronicles 16:9 (NASB77) 9 "For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. You have acted foolishly in this. Indeed, from now on you will surely have wars."
