6. Welcome to oakton winter guard
GOAL: To develop young adults through a performance sport with a strong emphasis on teamwork and achievement

7. How? To achieve the goal: Rehearsals - to put together our program
Individual training – to prepare for rehearsal
Reinforcement – instruction and repetition
Positive atmosphere – we are all learning
Competitions – professional and confident

8. Rehearsals Varsity: MWF 6:30-9 JV: MWF 5:30-7:30
Some alterations in order to have space in gym
Staging camps some Saturdays in December and January – this is where we have extended rehearsals to learn the show
Tentative Calendar is on the band website
Competitions – Saturdays in February and March
No conflict with Band Spring trip and assessment

10. Financial responsibility
As a club, we are self-financing with support from the band boosters
Need to pay for costumes, equipment, floor, staff, registration, some transportation
We expect members to contribute $400
Overnight trip expected to cost approximately $
We expect members to participate in fundraisers
SPONSORSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE for both fee and trip!
Financial concerns should not be a reason to not participate – we can make it work
