6 Test Fees  ACT - $46.00 ACT with writing - $62.50 Why Should I retest? To improve scores for admission, scholarships, and NCAA eligibility When should I retest? October to meet November 1st and 15th college application deadlines Fee waivers are available in the Career Center: Must fill out a release form

8 Common App Allows students to submit applications to over 700 US colleges and universities Helps save time by not needing to complete a separate application for each individual school U of MN Twin Cities does NOT require use of the Common App Use of Common App requires a counselor report/recommendation Be aware of deadlines You must have a teacher’s recommendation

Application for most of the financial aid from federal and state programs and from colleges and universities Form goes live October 1 using prior years taxes(2017) Won’t get any more money if you do it Oct. 1st vs Dec 1st Overview

14 What deadline should I choose?
Early Decision Student makes a binding commitment to a first-choice institution where, if admitted, they definitely will enroll. Early Action Students apply to an institution of preference & receive a decision well in advance of the institution’s regular response date. Student are not obligated to accept the institution’s offer. (Application deadline is usually Nov. 1 or Nov. 15 with a decision made by Dec. 15th or early January) Regular Decision Students submit an application to an institution by a specified date & receive a decision within a reasonable period or time, not later than early April Rolling The institution reviews applications as they are completed and makes admission decisions on a continuous basis, until the class is filled (no definitive application deadline)
