8 I am currently a Bartender…

9 In my free time I like to…
Hang out at the Dog Park with Gemma I love cooking and trying out new recipes, especially healthy ones! I’ve begun planning my Wedding!

10 Here are some fun facts! In April of 2016, I going to be an Aunt for the second time! Not only do I have a motorcycle, it’s pink! I have a BIG sweet tooth and my favorite is anything chocolate My favorite food is Sushi and I’ve actually taken a class to learn how to make my own I have no Aunts or Uncles…both my parents are only children See You Soon Aunt Rach!

11 The best way I learn is… Through interaction! I cannot sit and read something to comprehend it. It’s better for me to have something hands on. Using a Rubric helps lay everything out for me so there is no need for confusion as to what steps to take to be successful I need examples when it comes to certain things. For instance, if I were to solve a math problem I need to have a few examples to understand the steps I need to take to get the right answer I do not necessarily need praise, but I definitely find myself putting more effort in learning something if I get complimented or applauded for doing something right

12 I usually get distracted when…
There is a lot going on around me! If there is loud noises or people keep interrupting me to have conversations, I get frustrated and shut down mentally If I am overloaded with work. I try to prioritize things but when multiple big projects need to be done within a small time frame I definitely get distracted I need to have my “set-up” to get things done. If I do not have the right tools for success i.e.- books, paper work, even food, I get upset If I am not given enough time to finish one task and move onto another, I usually stick to the first task that is given and finish it before moving on to something new, even if I am instructed to leave something incomplete

13 Helpful Study Tools Having a Rubric is my best way to study and stay on task. It allows me to know what is due, when it is due, and what is expected from me I am a HUGE fan of Post-It notes. I love that I can write down key words, phrases, or notes and place them where I need them so I am not scrambling around trying to remember things Practice makes perfect is not a phrase that came out of thin air. If I sit and do repetitive work, whether it is a math problem or word definitions, the more I practice, the better I do Asking questions is something that took me awhile to use as a study tool, but now I do not hesitate to ask a friend, colleague, or teacher for help on something

14 Academic Strengths Even though I do not enjoy typing my life away, I am very good at it. Typing up papers comes naturally to me I really enjoy doing presentations, whether poster boards or PowerPoints. It lets me be creative and put my own twist on things. My most recent strength is time management. I use to wait until the last minute to do things, but the past few years I have really laid out a plan for success and stuck to it I am persistent when it comes to learning. If I do not understand something or have not mastered something the first or second time around, I keep at it until I get I right.

15 Academic Problem Areas
When it comes to taking tests, it seems like everything I studied for goes out the window. I am not a good test taker and tend to freeze up when I am given one. Math is my worst subject! I have to put in extra time and energy into anything involving mathematics in order to learn the curriculum I still need to work on asking for help when I do not understand something. I am very independent so it is hard for me to ask for assistance.

16 Learning Style Description
I am a visual and auditory learner. I benefit by using a combination of sight and sound when studying. I can pick up information most easily by listening and reading. I like to see class demonstrations, diagrams and other visual aids, and I benefit from watching video presentations. I usually take notes in class and then later read them out loud.

17 Academic Profile conclusion
When it comes down to it, I am a hands on learner and learn best with visual stimulation. Taking a test stresses me out but projects let me express my true talents.
