Steps in Setting up your Interactive Notebook

2 Step 1 Put your name on the front cover: Your Name Writing - Period 8

3 Step 2 Put your name on the first page: Your Name Ms. Jorgensen
6th Grade - Writing

4 Step 3 Punch a Hole in the top right corner of your front flap
Push the rubber band through the hole and make a loop to secure the rubber band.

5 What type of Glue may I use in my Interactive Notebook?
You may ONLY use Elmer’s school glue to glue items into your interactive notebooks. Glue sticks do not stick for ever. Liquid glue is best because it sticks forever.

6 Toaster Strudel See how we love to add icing to our Toaster Strudel!!!!!!! So much fun!!!

Toaster Strudeling method of gluing will result in wavy pages and a huge sticky mess!!! The proper way is to use small dots, aka baby dots, spread about 1 inch apart. Just a dot, not a lot, baby dots!!! NO TOASTER STRUDEL

Step 4 Glue Reflections N Journals to the front flap. Glue My journal to the front flap. Just a dot, not a lot, baby dots!!!

9 Step 5 Glue the pocket on the back flap of your Interactive Notebook
Just a dot, not a lot, baby dots!!! What’s the pocket for Ms. Jorgensen? This will be used if you have something you are not finished with - put it in the pocket

10 Step 6 Glue you rubric to the last page in your Interactive Notebook.

The students process new ideas by actively working with information they’ve learned. Creative format, pictures, illustrations, diagrams, flow charts, colors, graphic organizer, etc…. Allow for a variety of learning styles found in the classroom INPUT Right Side (Odd # Pages) Used to record class notes (the teacher decides what goes on this page. The information will be the same for all students. All material on this side will be tested.
