2 Foundation Introduction

3 The Online Portal Go to this Link: Create a new account if this is your first time applying for a grant with us. Returning applicants will login with the same account info they created before. Amy Our application process is entirely online. The link to access the application can be found in the blast that went out, in the SGP Information Sheet, and in this powerpoint. Once you click on the link, it will take you to a login page that looks like this. Click on “create new account” to get started. After you have worked on your application and have saved your changes, you will return to this same page and click the “Log On” button instead. Please make a note of your password to share with colleagues so only one account per organization is created.

4 Application - Dashboard
Once logged in, you will be on your organization’s “dashboard.” From here, you can select “Apply” to start a new application or Letter of Interest (LOI) or you can work on existing application. Amy After you have gone through the initial account set up page that asks for the organization’s executive director contact information as well as a main contact person if they are not one in the same, to this Dashboard page. It will give you a summary of the information you entered. Below that you will see the “info” box and will click on “apply” to begin answering questions.

5 Application - Dashboard
Under your contact information on the dashboard, you will see any current application processes you have started. Click on “Edit Application” to access the application questions. It will give you a summary of the information you entered. Below that you will see the “info” box and will click on “apply” to begin answering questions.

6 Application Example You can download a copy of the question list including the responses you’ve entered. Amy- At the top right corner of the application, you can click on the “question list” box and it will create a pdf of the application questions and any information you have saved in the answer boxes. This can be helpful in sharing drafts with your colleagues or project partners before you submit.

7 Application Example Be mindful of the characters you have left in each answer box. And if an attachment is required with the question. Amy Please be mindful of the number of characters allotted for each answer box. The application is meant to be abbreviated, so try to remain brief and specific when crafting your answers while at the same time being thorough. There are many websites out there that can help you count how many characters there are in each sentence. On average, 500 characters will be about 3-4 sentences.

8 Attachments You will need the following attachments to complete your application, including a completed budget form. Attachments may be in any format, but PDF is recommended so any formatting you put into the document is not lost. In addition to the required attachments, you are allowed to submit an optional supporting document of your choosing.

9 Budget Under the Sources of Revenue, include other requested and/or secured support from other funders and the amount your organization will be allocating for the project. These dollars are considered “In-Kind.” Only show in the “Dollars” columns what is being requested from the Foundation. Signatures are also required on the budget document.

10 Saving an Application/LOI
Located at the end of the page. When you log back in to the system, your dashboard will look similar to this and you will be able to pick up where you left off. Amy
