5. The Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (FLSA) introduced the forty-hour workweek, established a national minimum wage, guaranteed "time-and-a-half" for overtime in certain jobs, and prohibited most employment of minors in "oppressive child labor“.

6. A Right to Work law ensures that no one is forced to pay tribute to a union in order to get or keep a job.
The National Right to Work Committee supports the enactment of additional state right to work laws until the federal sanction for compulsory unionism is eliminated. There are currently 25 Right to Work states.
