Our completed story: Once, there was a BOY named AJ who lived in A CANDY HOUSE. He wanted TO EAT THE DELICIOUS CANDY THAT MADE UP HIS HOME. So, he STARTED WITH THE ROOF AND WORKED HIS WAY DOWN THE RIGHT SIDE . OCCASIONALLY HE SKIPPED AROUND TO EAT DIFFERENT KINDS OF CANDY. WHENEVER HE WAS HUNGRY, HE ATE. But what he didn’t expect was that HIS STOMACH WOULD HURT MOST OF THE TIME AND THAT HIS HOUSE WOULD NOT BE FIT TO LIVE IN AFTER A WHILE . In order to FIX BOTH PROBLEMS , he DECIDED TO MOVE. HE PACKED A BAG OF CANDY AND SET OUT TO FIND A NEW PLACE TO LIVE. Finally, AJ FOUND A HOME WITH A FARMER AND HIS WIFE ON A VEGETABLE FARM . HE LEARNED TO EAT HEALTHIER FOOD AND WAS NO LONGER TEMPTED TO EAT HIS HOUSE SINCE IT WAS MADE OF WOOD, BRICKS, AND CEMENT. So, THE FARMER, HIS WIFE, AJ, AND HIS STOMACH LIVED HAPPILY TOGETHER . THE END. LLazarre_Story Maps Spring 2011

YOUR TURN!!!! REMEMBER… A good story contains sentences that relate to one another in the beginning, middle and end. You can fill in the blanks on your story map with a few words or a few sentences. Take time to plan your story first. You may consider several options for each blank before deciding on the ones you actually use. Use complete sentences, punctuation, and capitalization. When you are finished, rewrite it neatly on a separate sheet of paper. We will share our stories with each other when the whole class is done. LLazarre_Story Maps Spring 2011
