Book Preview… The Hunger Games follows a teenage girl named Katniss as she fights for her life in the Hunger Games, a reality TV show and competition run by the government. Katniss lives in the future in a country called Panem. The country is divided into districts, which are controlled by the evil government (led by President Snow) of the Capital. When Katniss’s little sister, Prim, is selected to compete in the Hunger Games, Katniss volunteers to go in her place. She must say goodbye to her family and her best friend, Gale, and train to compete in a violent game. A boy named Peeta joins Katniss to represent their district in the games. They are trained by Haymitch, a former winner of the games, and are eventually sent off to fight to the death with children from other districts.

Favorite Part of the book
My favorite part of the book is when Katniss first enters the Hunger Games. I love this part of the book because the suspense is so intense! The author describes Katniss’s fear and other emotions very clearly, and I felt afraid as well!

Book Review Strengths Review Thrilling Plot “Real” Characters
Shocking Climax Review I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The book’s plot is exciting and leaves the reader turning the pages to find out what will happen next. The book also makes readers think about bigger issues, like government, society’s values, and entertainment. I would recommend this book to any teen or adult!
