3 Solve and Expression and Give Constructive Response
M Solve and Expression and Give Constructive Response Review the order of operations with a partner. Login to our class Blackboard website. Go to the discussion board tab, then click on the Constructive Response link. Click on the Create Thread option. Put your first name only in the subject area. Use the message space to solve the expression below. 2 x [(3 x 4) + (5 x 2)] 5. After solving, give a constructive response that explains how you solved the expression. **Be sure to include each step of the order of operations in your response. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Learning Target: 5.OA.1 Use parentheses, brackets, or braces in numerical expressions, and evaluate expressions with these symbols. MODIFICATION Technology allows for a significant task redesign. TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Kristi Bray School: LeBleu Settlement Elementary Louisiana State Standard: Learning Target: 5.OA.1 Use parentheses, brackets, or braces in numerical expressions, and evaluate expressions with these symbols. Grade Level/Subject: 5th Math Special Directions/Considerations: Activity Evaluation: Discussion Board Thread Prerequisites for students: Order of Operations

4 Create and Solve an Expression
Get ready to create your own expression! Review the order of operations with a partner. Login to our class Blackboard website. Go to the discussion board tab, then click on the Order of Operations link. Click on the Create Thread option. Put your first name only and homeroom in the subject area. After submitting your expression, respond to two other threads. In your response, you will solve the expression. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Learning Target: 5.OA.1 Use parentheses, brackets, or braces in numerical expressions, and evaluate expressions with these symbols. REDEFINITION Technology allows for new tasks, previously inconceivable.
