6. Registration of Support Workers in Care at Home and Housing Support Services
11,828– unique individuals registered on these Register parts since October 2017
4,703– individual applications for Registration received by the SSSC and currently being processed. More than half of these have until 2020 to be registered
7,100 – applications started on MySSSC, but not yet submitted to the SSSC.

7. Qualification Conditions – Support Workers
All workers who do not hold a suitable, accepted qualification upon registration must gain an accepted qualification within their first five years of registration.
The benchmark Qualification for Support Workers in Care at Home and Housing Support Services are:
SVQ Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF Level 6 or
HNC Social Services
Of the support workers who have gained registration so far around 54% are registered with a condition to gain one of the above qualifications.
