2. There are nine pieces of equipment that each player must wear while they are in the game. They must be in an original, unaltered condition. The mouth piece must be formed to the teeth of the participant, cannot be completely clear or completely white and cannot be cut off. The mouth piece must be the original design length. The jersey cannot be shorter than the top of the pants and must completely cover the shoulder pads, rib pads and back pads. The pants must cover the knee and knee pads. The nine pieces of mandatory equipment are as follows:

5. Towels must be all white and a minimum of 4 x 12 and a maximum of 18 x 36. Any knee brace must be worn below the pants. Any knee brace that is unaltered from the manufacturer and extends below the pants does not need to be padded. Any sweat bands must be worn within 3 of the base of the thumb. Bands worn on the calf, knee, neck and biceps are illegal. Gloves must be original and unaltered and have the NF/NCAA seal. Bicep sleeves that are tacky and designed to help control the ball are illegal. Back pads and rib pads are legal but they must be completely covered by the jersey.

7. 1)Hearing Aid or Artificial Prosthesis: A copy of the PIAA Executive Directors approval letter. 1-5-3d Note 2 and 1-5-2e. 2)Use of drum for the hearing impaired. Legal, no action necessary. 3)Exception to wearing a mouthpiece: A copy of the PIAA Executive Directors approval letter. 1-5-1i

8. 1) Hip pads, thigh pads and knee pads cannot be altered from the manufacturers original design. 1-5-1d, h, i. 2) All helmets must have the NOCSAE label, certifying the helmet and facemask. 1-5-1a 3)All pads including any optional pads must be covered by the jersey or pants. 1-5-1e,g (hand and forearm pads need not be covered). 4) Shoes: may be made of canvas, leather or a synthetic material, must be in their original condition and cannot be altered. Types of shoes that are illegal: gymnastic slippers, altered tennis shoes, ski or logger boots and any other apparel not intended for football use. 1-5-1f

9. 1)Yard-line markers, constructed of soft, pliable materials, no closer than 5 yds to the sideline. 2) Pylons, soft and flexible, 4 inches square and 18 inches high, orange, red or yellow. 3) The goal: consisting of a crossbar and 2 uprights. The uprights will be 10 above the crossbar and the crossbar will be 234 long and 10 above the ground measured from the top edge of the crossbar.

10. 4)A yardage chain device which measures exactly 10 yards and a down indicator used to mark the spot of the ball. 1-3-5 5)All line to gain and down indicators shall have flat lower ends covered by protective caps. 1-3-5d 6)A game clock with an operator. The operator shall be approved by the Referee. 1-3-6 7)The home team will normally provide a chain crew. The Referee has the option of removing a crew member if they are causing a problem.

11. 1)A kicking tee shall be made of pliable material which elevates the lowest point of the ball no more than 2 inches above the ground. 1-3-4 2) The ball must meet all the specifications of 1-3-1. Each team is required to submit at least 1 game ball that has the NFHS Authenticating Mark. 1-3-2
