Analyzing poetry for a central message, comparing and contrasting ideas across texts on similar topics on houses and homes. Math: Continue addition and subtraction with regrouping, Place Value, Money, greater than, less than and equal to Science & Social Studies: The Solar System/ Homes & Houses Around the World and Women History Homework Below are homework assignment and/or skills to review at home with your child. ELA: Analyze poetry for a central message, comparing and contrasting ideas across texts on similar topics. Writing paragraphs using spelling words and vocabulary words. Math: Complete attached math worksheets. Spelling Words: air, heir, loan, lone, mail, male, meat, meet, pear, pair, bee, be, blue, blew, rap, wrap, reed, read, sell, cell. High frequency words (Sight Words): because, been, before, best, both, buy, call, cold. Monday- use the 1st ten spelling words to write a paragraph. Tuesday- use the last 10 spelling words to write a paragraph. Wednesday- use vocabulary words in a paragraph. Thursday– study spelling words, vocabulary words and charts for quiz. Vocabulary Words: bellow-(of a person or animal) emit a deep loud roar, typically in pain or anger. roar-a full, deep, prolonged cry uttered by a lion or other large wild animal. glide-move with a smooth continuous motion, typically with little noise. hollow-having a hole or empty space inside. perched-alight or rest on something. delayed-make (someone or something) late or slow. stingy-unwilling to give or spend; ungenerous. slipped-to move, flow, pass, or go smoothly or easily; glide; slide. dangerous-able or likely to cause harm or injury.
